NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council proposes to make the above Traffic Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

1. The general effect of the Orders would be to:

a) Revoke the disabled parking places in the vicinity of No. 18a Hillside Avenue, Purley, No. 18 Penrith Road, Thornton Heath, and No. 43 Warren Avenue, South Croydon.

b) Designate new parking places at which vehicles displaying a disabled persons’ badge may be left without charge or time limit in the following locations.

Beverstone Road, Thornton Heath

Outside No. 38 and partially across the frontage of No. 36 (extension of an existing bay by 2.5 metres south-eastwards)

Chartham Road, South Norwood

2. A copy of the proposed Orders and all related documents can be inspected Monday to Friday inclusive, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, between 10am and 6pm, at Croydon Central Library, Katharine Street, CR9 1ET. Alternatively, all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk  

3. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the, Parking Design Section, 3rd Floor, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA or by emailing the Parking Design Team (email address above) quoting the reference: PD/CH/F40 & F41 by 20 November 2025.

PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING BAYS AND CHARGING POINTS – VARIOUS LOCATIONS WITHIN THE LONDON BOROUGH OF CROYDON

The Croydon (Prohibition and Restriction of Stopping, Loading and Waiting) and (Free Parking Places) (No. F25) Order 20-

The Croydon (On-Street Charged-For Parking Places) (No. F26) Order 20-

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council proposes to make the above Traffic Orders under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and all other enabling powers and proposes to install electric vehicle charging points under section 16 of the London Local Authorities and Transport for London Act 2013.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be:

(a) To provide parking places which may be used free of charge by electrically propelled vehicles that are being charged with electrical power, operational at any time on Mondays to Sundays inclusive, in the locations detailed in the Schedule to this Notice.

(b) To install electric vehicle charging points adjacent to the proposed parking places, as specified in the Schedule to this Notice.

(c) To amend the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the new parking arrangements as they exist on site.

NOTE: although parking in the electric vehicle bays is free of charge there is normally a cost involved in the use of the adjacent electric vehicle charging points.

3. Persons desiring to object or make representations in relation to the proposed Orders or charging points should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Order Making Section, Parking Design Team, Croydon Council, Floor 3, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon CR0 1EA or email Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk quoting the reference PD/CH/F25 & F26 within 28 days of the publication of this notice – by 27 November 2025.

5. The proposed Orders are intended to introduce electric vehicle charging bays and charging points to enable electric vehicle users to have access to unobstructed charging facilities reserved for the use of electric vehicles only, as part of the Council’s aim to have a phased introduction of up to 400 electric vehicle charging points across the borough. The Orders are also intended to amend existing restrictions to accommodate the new electric vehicle charging bays where necessary.

On the north-east side, one charge point located 8.9 metres south-east of the north-western (front) wall of No. 310 Lower Addiscombe Road.

Stroud Green Way, Croydon

On the north-west side, two 6 metre bays adjacent to the flank wall of Ashburton Memorial Homes, Stroud Green Way.

On the north-east side, one charge point located 7 metres south-west of the existing disabled bay adjacent to the flank wall of Ashburton Memorial Homes, Stroud Green Way.

Wydehurst Road, Croydon

On the south-west side, two 6 metre bays adjacent to the flank wall of No. 19 Sissinghurst Road

On the south-west side, one charge point located 11.5 metres north-west of the north-western end of the double yellow lines at the junction of Wydehurst Road with Sissinghurst Road.
