LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

PROPOSED ZEBRA CROSSING INSTALLATION – CLAREMONT AVENUE, NEW MALDEN

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, intend to introduce a zebra crossing under powers conferred by section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 in:-

CLAREMONT AVENUE, NEW MALDEN, the centre point of which would be 10.0 metres south-west of the common boundary of Nos. 157 and 159 Claremont Avenue.

2.The "controlled area" in which stopping, waiting and loading is prohibited at all times would apply on both the approach and exit sides of the crossing, with the zig-zag markings extending to a maximum of 19.9 metres north-east of the crossing and to a maximum of 15.6 metres south-west of the crossing, as measured from the middle of the crossing.

3. A plan of the area showing the crossing can be inspected during normal office hours on Monday to Friday at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden. Information is also available on Merton Council’s website at https://www.merton.gov.uk/WBARNESCLARE-ZEBRA

4. Any person desiring to comment on the proposal should send a statement in writing of their representations or objections and the grounds thereof in writing to the Environment, Civic Pride and Climate Department, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden SM4 5DX or alternatively by email to Traffic.AndHighways@merton.gov.uk quoting reference ES/WBARNESCLARE-ZEBRA, no later than 21st November 2025.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY NO. 30)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate works to clear vegetation along Public Right of Way No. 30, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from entering or proceeding in Public Right of Way No. 30, between Alt Grove and Dundonald Road.

2. The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

3. Nothing in the Order will apply to: -

(a) any person engaged in the execution of the said works;

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform.

4. Pedestrians affected by the footpath closure should proceed by way of Dundonald Road, Hartfield Crescent, Hartfield Road, Wimbledon Bridge, Wimbledon Hill Road, St George’s Road and Alt Grove and vice-versa.

5. The Order will apply from Monday 10th November 2025 and it is anticipated that works will take place between 8am and 5pm that day. However, the Order will remain in operation for a maximum period of 3 months should further works be require.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTIONS 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(CANNON HILL LANE, RAYNES PARK)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate pedestrian accessibility improvement works in Cannon Hill Lane, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to introduce temporary waiting and loading restrictions in the said road.

2. During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading a vehicle, in Cannon Hill Lane, the south-east side, from the common boundary of Nos. 335 and 337 Cannon Hil Lane north-eastward for a distance of 33 metres.

3. Any designated parking place situated in the road or length of road specified in paragraph 2 above would be suspended for the duration of the works.

4. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5. Nothing in the Order would apply to: -

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer; or

(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.

6. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

7. The Order would come into operation on Monday 24 November 2025 with the works anticipated to be completed within two weeks. However, the Order would remain in force for 6 months should further works be required.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 -

SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(LINKS ROAD, SW17)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

1. The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that to facilitate water utility remedial works in Links Road, SW17, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works no person would:-

(a) cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in Links Road, SW17, between its junction with London Road and its junction with Ascot Road;

(b) cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph (a) above;

(c) enter or proceed on the northern footway of Links Road, between its junction with Ascot Road and its junction with Links Way.

3. Any designated parking place situated in the length of Links Road specified in paragraph 2 above would be suspended for the duration of the works in that length of road.

4. The restrictions would only apply during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

5. Nothing in the Order would apply: -

(a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or

(d) so as to prevent vehicular access to premises in or adjacent to the road or length of road specified in paragraph 2(a) above.

6. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure in Links Road should proceed via Streatham Road, Gorringe Park Avenue and London Road or vice-versa.

7. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

8. The Order would come into operation on Monday 1st December 2025 and it is anticipated that the works would be completed within 2 days. However, the Order would remain in force for 3 months should further works be required.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON

(DEBURGH ROAD, SW19)

(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC)

ORDER 2025

1. The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate new sewer connection works in Deburgh Road, they intend to make an Order, the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict vehicular traffic in the said road.

2. During the works, no person would cause or permit any vehicle to:-

(a) enter or proceed in Deburgh Road from its junction with the service road to the rear of Nos. 65 and 81 Haydons Road eastward to the western boundary of No. 11 Deburgh Road;

(b) wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the street or length of street specified in sub-paragraph (a) above.

3. Any designated parking place situated in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above would be suspended for the duration of the works.

4. Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed via Haydons Road, All Saints Road and Norman Road, or vice-versa.

5. The restrictions and suspension would apply only during such times and to such extent as would from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.

6. Any vehicle that is in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

7. Nothing in this Order would apply: -

(a) to any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or

(b) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or police community support officer in uniform; or

(c) to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or

(d) so as to prevent vehicular access to premises in or adjacent to the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(a) above insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.

8. The Order would come into force on Monday 24th November 2025 and the works are anticipated to be completed on Friday 5th December 2025. However, the Order would remain in force for 6 months should further works be required.
