What is happening?
OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BEGBROKE & YARNTON PARISHES) (SPEED LIMITS) 2024
NOTICE is given that on 8 April 2024 Oxfordshire County Council made the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The order, which comes into force on 15 April introduces a 20mph speed limit within Yarnton replacing the majority of the previous 30mph speed limit in the process, leading out to the following points:
1. Cassington Road:
a. Eastern end - a point 30 metres east of its junction with Pixey Close,
b. Western end - a point 200 metres west of its junction with Pound Close,
2. Sandy Lane
a. Eastern end - a point 20 metres east of its junction with Broad Field Road,
b. Western end - a point 35 metres northeast of its junction with the A44 Woodstock Road,
3. Rutten Lane - a point 55 metres south of its junction with the A44 Woodstock Road,
4. Woodstock Road Service Roads (both sides of the A44) - its junction with the A44 Woodstock Road
Additionally, a new 30mph speed limit is introduced on Sandy Lane, in place of the 60mph National speed limit, between the proposed new 20mph in Yarnton and the newly introduced 20mph in Kidlington, a point southwest of its junction with Newport Close.
A section of 30mph speed limit on Cassington Road leading south-eastwards from the A44 Woodstock Road, as well as the existing 40mph speed limit on Yarnton Road remain in place, with Officers having taken the current road environment & traffic usage into account. The Oxfordshire County Council (Begbroke, Cassington and Yarnton) (Speed Limits) Order 2015 is revoked/replaced. (BEGBROKE AND YARNTON) (SPEED LIMITS) (NO.*) ORDER 20**
NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order - in support of road safety - is to amend the soon to be implemented 20mph speed limit in Yarnton that was approved in December 2023, as follows: ? Cassington Road (Eastern end) - extend the previously consulted on speed limit from a point 30 metres east of its junction with Pixey Close, eastwards to a new terminal point at its junction with the A44 Woodstock Road.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Begbroke and Yarnton)
(Speed Limits) Order 2024 will be revoked/replaced as necessary.

NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The proposals will further amend the following orders: the Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford, Cowley Central East Area) (Controlled Parking Zone and Waiting Restrictions) Order 2021, Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford, Cowley Central (West) Area) (Controlled Parking Zone and Waiting Restrictions) Order 2021, Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford, Florence Park Area) (Controlled Parking Zone And Waiting Restrictions) Order 2022, Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford, Headington West) (Controlled Parking Zone and Waiting Restrictions) Order 2022, The City of Oxford (Jericho) (Parking Places and Controlled Parking Zone) Order 2000, Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford, Wood Farm Area) (Controlled Parking Zone and Waiting Restrictions) Order 2019, and the Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford, Upper Wolvercote) (Controlled Parking Zone and Waiting Restrictions) Order 2023.
The effect of the proposals - in accordance with parking policy & planning permissions - is to amend the eligibility of the following properties to apply for Residents & Visitors Parking Permits as follows:
1. Cowley Central East - a) exclude No.31 Bailey Road from eligibility for resident's parking permits and residents' visitors' parking permits, and b) allow eligible properties in Lockheart Crescent to apply for two residents permits per property as per others within the zone (previously only eligible for one per property).
2. Cowley Central West - exclude No.6 Bartholomew Road from eligibility for resident's parking permits and residents' visitors' parking permits,
3. Florence Park - a) exclude No.26 Clive Road and b) No.7 Cornwallis Close from eligibility for resident's parking permits and residents' visitors' parking permits,
4. Headington West - a) exclude No.59 Grays Road, b) No. 64 Valentia Road, and c) No. 25 Gipsy Lane from eligibility for resident's parking permits and residents' visitors' parking permits,
5. Jericho - exclude No.77A (Basement Flat) Walton Street from eligibility for resident's parking permits and residents' visitors' parking permits,
6. Wood Farm - exclude No.17 Pauling Road from eligibility for resident's parking permits and residents' visitors' parking permits.
Additionally, following implementation of the Upper Wolvercote CPZ, and further input from the local County Councillor, the subsequent amendment is proposed:
7. Upper Wolvercote - allow all boats at the 'Agenda 21' residential moorings to be eligible to apply for resident's parking permits and residents' visitors' parking permits.

(OXFORD, HEADINGTON QUARRY EAST) (CONTROLLED PARKING ZONE AND WAITING RESTRICTIONS) (VARIATION NO.*) ORDER 20**
NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The proposals are to amend parking & waiting restrictions within the Headington Quarry East Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) in Oxford, following a review of the workings & effectiveness of the scheme, and will help facilitate safe movement & passage of traffic. Specifically, the proposals comprise the following measures:
1. Two new limited waiting parking bays 'Permit Holders or 3 Hours No Return Within 3 Hours Mon-Fri 9am-5pm' on the western side of Green Road, a) from a point 38.5 metres north of the northern kerb line of Quarry High Street, for 17 metres, and b) for 34.5 metres from a point 69.7 metres north of the northern kerb line of Quarry High Street.
2. Change of restriction from 2 Hours to 'Permit Holders or 3 Hours No Return Within 3 Hours Mon-Fri 9am-5pm' of the existing parking bays on a) the western side of Green Road south of its junction with Quarry High Street, for 15 metres, and b) the western side of Trinity Road south of its junction with Beaumont Road, for 19.5 metres.
3. Removal of existing 'Permit Holders or 2 Hours No Return Within 2 Hours' parking bay on the eastern side of Pitts Road, north of its junction with Quarry High Street.
4. New 'No Waiting at Any Time' restrictions (double yellow lines) on Trinity Road, extending the existing restrictions on the northern side, east of its junction with Quarry School Place, eastwards by an additional 77 metres.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Oxford, Headington Quarry East) (Controlled Parking Zone and Waiting Restrictions) Order 2021 will be further amended as necessary. (CHIPPING NORTON AREA) (SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 20**
NOTICE is given that Oxfordshire County Council proposes to make the above order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the order - in support of road safety issues - is to introduce a 20mph speed limit within Over Norton, replacing the existing 30mph (restricted roads by virtue of street-lighting) speed limit in its entirety, leading out to the following points:
1. B4026 Road - a point 35 metres northeast of its junction with the access to 'Over Norton House'/Over Norton Park,
2. B4026 Over Norton Road - a point 65 metres south of its junction with Cleeves Corner,
3. Choicehill Road - a point 155 metres northwest of its junction with Quarhill Close.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Chipping Norton Area) (Speed Limits) Order 2023 will be revoked/replaced as necessary.
