Orchard Close, Temporary Footpath Closure Due To Sewer Repair Works

What is happening?

The County Council of Durham

(Orchard Close, Crook) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2023

The Council on 12/5/2023 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on an 88 metres length of Orchard Close, Crook from the front of no.10 Orchard Close at northern side of closure in a southerly direction to side of no.1 Orchard Close to enable Northumbrian Water sewer repair works to be undertaken. Throughout the period of closure, a diversion will be available to pedestrian traffic from north side of closure in a southerly direction From the front of no.11 Orchard Close to the front of no.1 Orchard Close and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence at 8am on 22/5/2023 and are anticipated to be completed in 5 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
