Temporary No Waiting, Loading, Road & One- Way Closures
What is happening?
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Potters Lane, Wednesbury) (Temporary No Waiting or Loading) Order 2023 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from waiting or loading in Potters Lane, Wednesbury between the western kerbline of the entrance to West Midlands Metro site and A4196 Bridge Street roundabout (both sides of Potters Lane). The maximum duration is 18 months but the provisions of this legal order will come into force on 03/04/2023, with the anticipated end date being 01/04/2024. The provisions of this legal order will only be operational for short periods to assist with abnormal load movements necessary to facilitate the movement of trams being sent for refurbishment by West Midlands Metro/Transport for West Midlands. The Borough Council of Sandwell (Lansbury Walk, Tipton) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2023 has made an order to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding via the footpath linking Glebefields Road to Mansell Road, known as Lansbury Walk, Tipton. A diversion route for pedestrians will be signed via Glebefields Road, Jubilee Road, Mansell Road and vice versa. The maximum duration of this legal order is 6 months but the work is expected to be completed by 14/04/2023 effective from 03/04/2023. Purpose – gas main replacement works by Whitcombe Pipelines, working on behalf of Cadent Gas Ltd.
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Beauty Bank, Cradley Heath) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Beauty Bank from the junction of Station Road for a distance of 20 metres past the railway bridge (access to frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits). A diversion route will be signed via Station Road, Halesowen Road and vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 02/04/2023 (8am - 6pm). Purpose – to faciltate access to examine the railway bridge structure by Network Rail Ltd.
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Freda Rise, Hilton Road, Ashleigh Road, Grace Road, Mount Road, Park Road, City Road (One-Way) and Leslie Rise) (Temporary Road and One-Way Closures) Order 2023 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along the following roads in Tividale: It is anticipated the roads will be closed as folllows:- 1) Freda Rise (3rd to 14th April 2023) – full road closure from the junction of Hilton Road to adjoining line of property numbers 2/3. No diversion route required (cul-de-sac). 2) Hilton Road (10th April to 19th May 2023) – full road closure from the junction of A4123 New Birmingham Road to the junction of Longbank Road/Dale Terrace. Diversion routes will be signed as follows: route 1 – A4123 New Birmingham Road, City Road, Grace Road and vice versa; route 2 – A4123 New Birmingham Road (south bound), Tower Road, City Road and Grace Road. 3) Ashleigh Road (1st to 12th May 2023) – full road closure from the junction of Grace Road to the junction of Hilton Road. A Diversion route will be signed via Hilton Road, Mount Road, Grace Road and vice versa. 4) Grace Road (15th to 26th May 2023) – full road closure from the junction of City Road to the junction of Park Road/Mounts Road. Diversion routes will be signed as follows: route 1 – City Road and Park Road; route 2 – Hilton Road, Mount Road, Park Road, City Road and vice versa. 5) Mount Road (22nd May to 2nd June 2023) – full road closure from the junction of Hilton Road to the gable end of property No.10. A diversion route will be signed via Grace Road, Ashleigh Road, Hilton Road and vice versa. 6) Park Road (29th May to 9th June 2023) – full road closure from the junction of City Road to the junction of Grace Road/Mount Road. A diversion route will be signed via City Road, Grace Road and vice versa. 7) City Road (5th June to 14th July 2023) – one-way road closure in a south westerly direction from the junction of A41243 New Birmingham Road to the junction of Park Road (northern side). Diversion routes will be signed as follows: route 1 – A4123 New Birmingham Road (northbound), Trafalgar Road, Poplar Avenue and Poplar Rise; route 2 – A4123 New Birmingham Road (southbound), A4123 Wolverhampton Road (southbound) and Tower Road. 8) Leslie Rise (3rd June to 14th July 2023) – full road closure from the junction of City Road to the gable end of property No.3. No diversion route required (cul-de-sac). Access to frontages affected by the works will be maintained, but only when safety permits. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 14/07/2023 effective from 03/04/2023 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access to carry out gas service replacement works by Cadent Gas Ltd.
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Adkins Lane, Galton Road and Lightwoods Hill, Smethwick) (Temporary No Waiting or Loading At Any Time Restriction) Order 2023 has made an order to temporarily prohibit any vehicle from waiting or loading along the following lengths of road in Smethwick: 1) Adkins Lane – both sides –between Lightwoods Hill and Bearwood Road. 2) Galton Road – both sides – between Hagley Road West and Adkins Lane. 3) Lightwoods Hill – both sides – between Adkins Lane and Beechwood Road.
The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 30/09/2024 effective from 01/04/2023. Purpose – ‘no waiting’ cones will be placed on all or some of the specified lengths of roads when events/activities are being held in Lightwoods Park or House, which necessitate the implementation of a temporary no waiting restriction to assist with safety issues and traffic flows for Sandwell MBC.
