What is happening?

(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2023

The Council on 3rd March 2023 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on a 685 metre length of Public Footpath No 10 Shotton Parish, Shotton Colliery that extends southwards from Shotton Lane to Footpath number 11, Edders Acre Farm, Shotton Colliery to enable footbridge renewal works to be undertaken. An alternative route will be available to pedestrian traffic from the northern side of the closure from Shotton Lane south easterly to Whitehouse Way, northerly then south easterly on Shotton Lane and westerly on Public Footpath 11 leading to the southern side of the closure, and vice versa. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months.
The works are expected to commence on Monday 13th March 2023 and are anticipated to be completed in 5 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
