What is happening?
THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
PART OF HOLME ROAD, MARKET
WEIGHTON
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire Council
intends not less than seven days from the date of this
notice to make an Order, the effect of which will be to
prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along part of Holme
Road, Market Weighton from a point 800 metres southwest
from the junction with Home Road Roundabout covering a
distance of 200 metres commencing 4 April 2023 to allow
“Northern Powergrid pole replacement” work.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring the
safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18 months, but
it is anticipated that the works will be completed within
one day.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road closure
will be via: Holme Road, Gallymoor Roundabout, Shipton
Lane, Shiptonthorpe Roundabout, York Road, York Road
Eastbound Turning Loop, Giant Bradley Way, Holme Road
Roundabout, Oak Road, Market Weighton CP, Shipton
Thorpe CP, Holme upon Spalding Moor CP, Wolds Weighton
Ward, Howdenshire Ward.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure.
The road will be closed to all traffic but access will be
maintained at all times for residents, emergency
services and pedestrians.
