What is happening?

Portsmouth City Council (Wayte Street) (Temporary Prohibition of Right Turn (Temporary Footway Closure) (No.93) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that Portsmouth City Council intends to make the above Order under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The Order comes into operation from 20th March 2023 and the effect will be as follows:-
A) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN
WAYTE STREET

From its junction with Wooton Street into High Street.
B) TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE
WAYTE STREET

From its junction with Wooton Street to its junction with High Street on the south side.
WOOTON STREET
From its junction with Wayte Street for 15 metres south on the eastern side.
C) REASON FOR THE ORDER
To facilitate development works.
D) DURATION OF THE ORDER
From 20th March 2023 to 20th September 2024 or completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
E) DIVERSION
Vehicles will be diverted from Wootton Street - Wayte Street - Medina Road Roundabout - Northern Road - Medina Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained around the works.
