TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that South Tyneside Council intends to make an Order under S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit driving on the following sections of
road:- Leam Ln, Jarrow, westbound carriageway, from its junction with Lindisfarne Roundabout, in a westerly direction, for a distance of 470m. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the
road, and in particular to enable South Tyneside Council to resurface the highway. The Order will come into force on the 15/3/23. The maximum duration of the prohibition under this Order will be 18 mths. However it is anticipated that the
prohibition will only be needed from 20/3/23 for 9 nights. All vehicles except those engaged in the works, will be prohibited on the road described above for the duration of the works. The prohibition shall only apply at such times and
to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition, the alternative route will be via Leam Ln, A184 J A194m/A194 Roundabout, A184 From J A194m/A194 Roundabout To J A184 Roundabout E, Newcastle Rd, A184 From J A184 Roundabout To J A194m/A194 Roundabout W, Access Rd To Scotts
House From Newcastle Rd, Access Rd To Scotts Farmhouse From Newcastle Rd, A19 J A184 Join N, A19 From J A184 To J A194 N, A19 Tyne Tunnel To Testos Roundabout, A19 Through J A194 N, A19 J A194 Leave N, Durham Dr & vice versa.
