Chichester - Amending the Fees and Charges For parking
What is happening?
THE CHICHESTER DISTRICT COUNCIL (OFF STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) (Variation No1) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Chichester District Council (“the Council”) has made the above Order under Sections 32, 35, 124(1) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended (“the 1984 Act”). The Order will come into operation on 1 April 2023 and its effect will be as follows:
(a) To vary Schedule 7 - Scale of Current Charges of the Chichester District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2020 as varied, by;
(i) Amending the fees and charges specified at such of the parking places specified in accordance with the particulars described in Schedule 1 to this Notice;
(ii) Amending the scale of Chichester City roving season ticket and part-time season ticket charges for the use made of parking places in accordance with the particulars described in Schedule 2 to this Notice;
(iii) Amending the scale of season ticket charges in Avenue de Chartres car park, Chichester in accordance with the particulars described in Schedule 3 to this Notice; and
(iv) Amending the scale of Chichester City Specific season ticket charges, in accordance with the particulars described in Schedule 4 to this Notice; and
(v) Amending the scale of coastal and rural season ticket charges for the use made of parking places in the coastal and rural areas in accordance with the particulars described in Schedule 5 to this Notice, and
(b) To vary the Chichester District Council (Off-Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2020, by;
(I) Updating the name of Market Avenue / St Johns Street car park to St John’s;
(ii) Reviewing and updating the Interpretation to include new definitions for ‘Coach’ and ‘Coach bay’;
(iii) Reviewing and updating the Interpretation definition for ‘Electric Vehicle Parking Bay’ and inserting a description for an ‘Electric Vehicle Parking Bay’ into Part 2, Designation and Use of Parking Places and inserting a new definition which outlines the Council’s authority to give permission to park in parking places, also into Part 2;
(iii) Replacing outdated references to Regulations;
(iv) Inserting a new parking place – Freeland close, Chichester into Schedule 7 of the Consolidation Order 2023.
