What is happening?

NOTICE is given that on 28th February 2023 Sunderland City Council made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 33, 35 – 35C, 99-102 and 122 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, by virtue of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act.

NOTICE is given that on 28th February 2023 Sunderland City Council made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 33, 35 – 35C, 99-102 and 122 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, by virtue of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act.
The effect of the order is to: (1) introduce paid for parking places on those parking places in the Riverside Multi-Storey Car Park on Farringdon Row; and (2) introduce annual Gold parking permits at a cost of £1,350.00 per annum for a non-designated parking space or £1,600.00 per annum for a designated parking space in both the Riverside Multi-Storey Car Park and at St Marys Way Car Park.
Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order may be inspected during normal opening hours at City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland SR1 3AA, until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which the Order is made. An electronic copy of the documents can also be obtained by emailing: statutoryorders@sunderland.gov.uk.
Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with may within six weeks from the date on which the Order is made apply for the purpose to the High Court.
