What is happening?
DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
FOR ALL ROAD USERS
BUXTON ROAD, WHALEY BRIDGE
WHEN: 16th January 2023 to 31st March 2023
WHERE: Buxton Road, Whaley Bridge at Railway Bridge between junction with Forge Road and Whaley Bridge Uniting Church.
REASON: To facilitate replacement of Railway Structure.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE:
HGV ROUTE USE: Buxton Road, A5004 Long Hill, Manchester Road, A53 St Johns Road, Station Road, A6 Fairfield Road, A6 Hallsteads, Barmoor Clough, Chapel By-pass, A5004 Market Street and vice versa.
LIGHT TRAFFIC USE: B5470, Horwich End, Tunstead Milton, Lower Crossings and Chapel-en-le-Frith.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.
Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while work takes place. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190.
The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
