TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING ORDER 2022

Notice is hereby given that South Tyneside Council intends to make an Order under S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit driving on the following sections of road:- Rear lane from side of 10 & 12 Mill Ln, Whitburn, from its junction with Mill Ln, in an easterly direction, for a distance of 5m. Closure in place from 09th - 20 th /1/23. Rear lane opposite 25 Mill Ln, Whitburn, from its
junction with Mill Ln, Whitburn, in an easterly direction, for a distance of 5m. Closure in place from 09th - 20 th /1/23. Rear lane side of 15 & 17 Mill Ln, Whitburn, from its junction with Mill Ln, Whitburn, in a westerly direction for 5m. Closure in place from 6:30a.m - 8:30a.m on 10 & 11/1/23. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road, and in particular to enable South Tyneside Council to carry out upgrade of traffic signals. The Order will come into force on the 4/1/23. The maximum duration of the prohibition under this Order will be 18 mths. All vehicles except those engaged in the works, will be prohibited on the road described above for the duration of the works. The prohibition shall only apply at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition, the
alternative route will be via Rackly Wy, Mill Ln, East St & vice versa.
