City Way & Doxford Park Way Sunderland - 30MPH SPEED LIMIT
What is happening?
THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (CLOSURE AND 30MPH SPEED LIMIT ON B1286 CITY WAY AND SECTIONS OF DOXFORD PARK WAY, SUNDERLAND) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2022
Sunderland City Council gives notice that it made an Order on 17th October 2022 under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit all traffic along the lengths of carriageway in the Schedule below and when those carriageways are open to traffic, to reduce the speed limit along those carriageways to 30mph. The Order is required to enable resurfacing and signal upgrade works to take place on or near the road. The Order will come into operation on 20th October 2022. The maximum duration of the closure under this Order will be 18 months, however it is estimated that the works will take 3 months to complete from commencement of the works.
All traffic will be prohibited from the carriageways in the Schedule below (except for vehicles and personnel involved in the works and emergency services on emergency call), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs.
