What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – (AS AMENDED)
PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO. 1 BRIDGTOWN PARISH AND NO. 21 (PART) CHESLYN HAY PARISH TEMPORARY CLOSURE
Notice is hereby given that the Staffordshire County Council intend, not less
than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of
which will be to prohibit any pedestrians from proceeding along the following
lengths of footpaths:
1. Public Footpath No. 1 Bridgtown for its entire length starting from its junction at A5 Watling St to Public Footpath No 21 Cheslyn Hay.
2. Public Footpath No. 21 Cheslyn Hay from Public Footpath No. 1 Bridgtown for approximately 225 metresin a south and then south-westerly direction to its junction with Bridge Ave.
The closure is required under the provision of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 Section 14 (1) (b) due to Severn Trent construction work and of the likelihood of danger to the public using the footpath.
No alternative route is available.
A plan will be displayed on site to show length of public footpath to be closed and the unaffected rights of way in the area.
This Order will come into operation on October 17th 2022 and will remain in force for a period of six months or until the risk of danger to the public is considered to be over, whichever is the earlier. If necessary, after six months, the Order may be extended for a further period with the approval of the Secretary of State.
