Lindale - Temporary Road Closure to All Traffic due to Utility Works

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C5046 Lindale, from its junction with the Back Road, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 70 metres. A suitable alternative route for all traffic will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the C5046, Back O’ The Fell Road and Smithy Hill.

The Order will come into operation on 23rd November 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 3 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
