Shropshire Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make an order temporarily prohibiting the use of part of several Rights of Way that all run across land to the east and south of the STFC Football Stadium in Shrewsbury.
• Footpath 68 leaving SJ 4930 1020 running in a general southerly direction to SJ 4939 0999.
• Footpath UN1 leaving SJ 4939 0999 running in a general south then westerly direction to SJ 4927 0985 and leaving SJ 4939 0999 running in a general north easterly direction to SJ 4959 1005.
• Footpath 74 leaving Oteley Road at SJ 4968 1047 running in a general south westerly direction along the access to Stadium Point to SJ 4959 1009.
• Footpath 71 leaving SJ 4659 1006 running in a general WNW direction to SJ 4971 1012 to the property known as The Hawthorns.
• Footpath 73 leaving the junction of FP 72 & 71 at the property known as The Hawthorns at grid reference SJ 4971 1012 running in a general northerly direction to the access road at grid reference SJ 4966 1039.
• Footpath 72 leaving Oteley Road, opposite Sutton Grange Drive at grid reference SJ 4995 1033 running in a general south westerly direction to the property known as The Hawthorns at grid reference SJ 4971 1012
The Order will come into operation on 12th November 2026 until the 12th May 2027, in the first instance and is required on the grounds of public safety to allow development to take place
Walkers can still use FP 66 from Sainsburys, under the railway bridge, to join FP UN1 and FP UN1 from Oteley Road, alongside the football stadium to Sainsburys or south to the footpath under the A5 bypass and joining with the existing Rights of Way network to Bayston Hill.
