Southampton - Temporary Road Closure due to Carriageway Repair Works
What is happening?
THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (SOMERSET AVENUE) (ROAD CLOSURE) (262/67) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make the above Order.
1. The effect of the Order will be to close Somerset Avenue from its junction with Taunton Drive to its junction with Blendworth Lane.
2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for carriageway repairs.
3. The alternative route will be Taunton Drive, Hatley Road, West End Road, Beauworth Avenue and Somerset Avenue.
4. The Order will come into force on 18th November 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 18th November 2026.
