(Petworth: Lombard Street) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close Lombard Street from its junction with Church Street southwards for a distance of 60m.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst repairs are made to electrical connections.

The Order will come into effect on 18 November 2026 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated works will commence on 18 November 2026 and will be completed by 1 December 2026.

(Midhurst: Church Road) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close Church Road between Selham Road and Pinwood Court.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst gas mains renewal works are undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 16 November 2026 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated works will commence on 16 November 2026 and will be completed by 29 January 2027. (Cuckfield: Ockenden Lane) (Temporary Closure) Order 2023

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily close Ockenden Lane in Cuckfield from the eastern property boundary of 1 Ockenden Lane, to the western property boundary of 3 Ockenden Lane.

The road closure is needed to maintain safety while maintenance to watermains is carried out.

The Order will come into effect on 10 October 2023 and remain in force until 16 October 2023. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Barnham & Eastergate: Barnham Road) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that not less than 7 days from the date of this notice, WSCC intends to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to temporarily extend the length of existing double yellow lines on the south side of Barnham Road, in Barnham & Eastergate. The affected lines are located opposite its junction with Lake Lane and will be extended westwards by 40m.

This restriction is needed to allow large vehicles to safely access the car park on the northern side of Barnham Road during works being conducted for the Environment Agency.

The Order will come into effect on 18 November 2026 and remain in force until 10 February 2027. Once made, the Order may remain in force for up to 18 months, or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier.

During the operative periods of this Order alternative routes for vehicles will be indicated on site. Access to properties on the affected length of road will be maintained at all times.

(Chichester: Church Road) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close Church Road between Church Road roundabout junction and Portfield Cemetery.

The Order is necessary to protect public safety whilst electrical repair works are undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 4 November 2026 and will last for 18 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is anticipated works will commence on or after 4 November 2026 and will take weeks to complete. (Barnham & Eastergate: Public Footpath 323) (Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State has approved the extension of the above Order made by WSCC under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, which is currently in place to temporarily close Public Footpath 323 in Barnham & Eastergate from Church Lane, northwards to the railway line.

The extended closure of this route is needed to maintain safety while a property development is constructed on adjacent land.

The Order may now remain in operation until 30 October 2027 or until construction works are completed, whichever is earlier. During the operative period of this Order an alternative route will be provided, avoiding the construction area.
