East Sussex - Multiple Road Traffic Notices

EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL 
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (C408 Ivy Lane, Frant)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Ivy Lane – from the junction with C408 Hawkenbury Road to the junction with B2169 Bayham Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2169 Bayham Road – C408 Hawkenbury Road and vice versa.

The Order commenced 9 September 2025 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. 

However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 2 November 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2100 Mayfield Lane, Wadhurst)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026 No.2

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Mayfield Lane – from the junction with B2099 Station Road to the junction with C14 Tidebrook Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2100 Best Beech Hill, Wadhurst Road – A267 Mayfield Road, Tunbridge Wells Road, Mayfield Road – B2099 Wadhurst Road, Riverhall Hill, Frant Road, Station Hill, Station Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 30 October 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. 

However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 30 October and 2 November 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2100 Sparrows Green Road, Wadhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Sparrows Green Road – from the junction with B2099 High Street to the junction with B2100 Cousley Wood Road. 

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2100 Cousley Wood Road, The Slade – A21(T) – B2087 High Street, Union Street, Broom Hill, Berners Hill, Dale Hill, Lower Platts – B2099 High Street, Shovers Green, Ticehurst Road, Moseham Hill, Lower High Street, High Street and vice versa. 

The Order commences 3 November 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier.

However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 3 and 5 November 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2026 Jib Jacks Hill/Cotchford Hill, Hartfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Jib Jacks Hill/Cotchford Hill – from the junction with U7847 Chuck Hatch Lane to the junction with B2110 Newtons Hill. 

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2110 High Street,
Castlefields, Withyham Road – B2188 Hendal Hill, Cherry Gardens Hill, Plumyfeather Lane, Lye Green Road, Church Hill, Black Hill – B2026 High Road, Chuck Hatch Road and vice versa. 

The Order commences 19 November 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 19 November 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2188 Hendal Hill, Groombridge)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2026

To allow Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure
Hendal Hill – from the junction with B2188 Cherry Gardens Hill to the junction with B2110 Withyham Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2188 Cherry Gardens Hill, Plumyfeather Lane, Lye Green Road, Church Hill, Black Hill – B2026 High Road, Chuck Hatch Road, Cotchford Hill, Jib Jacks Hill – B2110 High Street, Castlefields, Withyham Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 17 November 2026 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 17 November 2026 depending upon the weather conditions.
