What is happening?
SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Coneygree Road and Victoria Road, Tipton) (Temporary Road Closures) Order 2026 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Coneygree Road & Victoria Road, which will be closed from the northern side of property No.1 Coneygree Road to the gable end of property No.115 Victoria Road. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Sedgely Road East, Mayfair Gardens & vice versa. The maximum duration is 18 months, but the work is expected to be completed by 10/11/2026 (6am), effective from 09/11/2026 (7pm). Purpose – to facilitate access to install lighting under the Midland Metro Bridge by Midland Metro Alliance.
