ON STREET PARKING ORDER 2017 (THE WHEATRIDGE EAST AND WHEATWAY) (ABBEYDALE WARD) (GLOUCESTER CITY) (VARIATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council has made a Variation Order under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will vary the Gloucestershire County Council On Street Parking Order 2017 (the 2017 Order) by introducing the restrictions detailed in The Schedule below:

The 2017 Order will be varied by the attachment of plans similar to those used in this consultation and which identify the roads or sides of road to which the prohibitions and restrictions affect.

This Variation shall come into operation on 6th November 2026.

The lengths of roads fall within the Abbeydale Ward in the City of Gloucester within the County of Gloucestershire. The usual exemptions will apply to Statutory Undertakers and Local Authority vehicles carrying out duties in exercise of their statutory powers, and also in the case of emergency services vehicles and disabled person’s vehicles.

A copy of the Variation Order, the new Sealed Plans to be inserted into the Schedule of Plans together with a copy of the Statement of Reasons and 2017 Order may be viewed at The Map Room, Shire Hall, Westgate Street, Gloucester, GL1 2TG during its normal working hours or online at http://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/tros. Please quote reference 5227-115.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Variation or any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement to that Act or any Statutory Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Variation may within six weeks of the date on which the Variation is made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND RESTRICTION OF 482630 THE WHEATRIDGE EAST (ABBEYMEAD WARD) GLOUCESTER CITY

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close and restrict part of the 482630 The Wheatridge East from its junction with The Wheatway to its junction with Rumsey Close for a distance of approximately 205 metres. The reason for the closure is for Carriageway works outside of new School entrance. There will be no waiting, stopping, or loading permitted throughout the duration of the said works.

The road is expected to be closed and restricted between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs from 2nd November 2026 until 9th November 2026 only. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 490332 Vernon Place from outside of the property known as ‘No.3 Vernon Place (Montgomery Mews) to outside of the property known as ‘No 4 Vernon Court’ for a distance of approximately 10metres. The reason for the closure is for works on behalf of Severn Trent Water

The road is expected to be closed between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 on 31st October 2026 only. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close and restrict part of the C91 Willow Bank Road from outside of the property known as ‘No.70 Willow Bank Road ‘to outside of the property known as ‘No.62 Willow Bank Road’ for a distance of approximately 100 metres. The reason for the closure and restriction is for works on behalf of the National Grid. There will be no stopping or waiting permitted throughout the duration of the works

The road is expected to be closed and restricted from 09:30hrs on 2nd November 2026 until 15:30hrs on 4th November 2026 only. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF A46 WINCHCOMBE STREET FOOTWAY (PITTVILLE WARD) CHELTENHAM BOROUGH

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the A46 Winchcombe Street footway from outside the property known as ‘No. 76 Winchcombe Street’ to outside the property known as ‘No. 124 Winchcombe Street’ for a distance of approximately 205 metres.

The reason for the closure is for construction works.

The said footway is expected to be closed from 1st November 2026 until 1st May 2027 only.

However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

Alternative Route: As signed on site. Emergency access will be maintained. Pedestrian access will not be maintained as the footway will be closed, however, a pedestrian diversion will be installed.

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the C8001 Brunswick Road from its junction with Kiln Close to its junction with Friars Orchard for a total distance of approximately 45 metres. The reason for the closure is to allow works on behalf of Severn Trent Water.

That part of The City of Gloucester (Brunswick Road) (Prohibition of Driving) Order 1998 insofar as it relates to Suspension of Bus/Taxi/Cycle only gateway in Brunswick Road between Bell Lane and Eastgate Street is hereby suspended for the duration of the works

The said roads are expected to be closed from 19:00hrs on 3rd November 2026 until 06:00hrs on 4th November 2026 only. However, if the said works are not completed by this date the Order may remain in force for up to eighteen months or until the said works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF MPA130 PAINSWICK FOOTPATH AND 401320 BISLEY STREET (PAINSWICK PARISH) STROUD DISTRICT

Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the MPA130 Painswick Footpath and 401320 Bisley Street as detailed in Schedule 1 & 2 below.

The reason for the closures is for an Electrical supply alteration.

The said Footpath and Footway are expected to be closed, during various times, on a rolling programme commencing 26th October 2026 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the closures are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the closures taking effect. This Order can permit the closure of the road in any order, or simultaneously as required. It is anticipated all works will be completed by 27th November 2026.
