Temporary Traffic Restriction Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that Cornwall Council has made the above Order dated 26th October 2026 in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to prohibit the use by traffic over an area of highway being Market Street Falmouth between the properties numbered 50 and 43.
Notice is further given that Cornwall Council intends to make the above order in exercise of its powers under section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 to temporarily suspend the existing one-way order The County of Cornwall (Falmouth) (Restrictions on Driving) (Consolidation) Order 1991 Market Street/Church Street/Arwenack Street (Class Ill) between its junctions with Killigrew Street and Swan pool Street for their entire lengths.
The Council is satisfied that the Order is needed because works are being executed on or near the road to carry out ducting works.
The Order will come into operation on 9th November 2026 and the works are expected to be completed by the 11th November 2026. The prohibition will be in force between the hours of 1900 and 0600 on a daily basis, weekdays only.
Nothing in Paragraph 1 of this Order will apply to emergency services, traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer. Pedestrian access to residents and businesses will be maintained.
