Lowca - Temporary Road Closure to All Traffic due to Utility Works

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (U4112 SOLWAY ROAD, LOWCA, WHITEHAVEN)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of Solway Road, Lowca, Whitehaven from its junction with East Road, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 110 m.

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of Solway Road and East Road.

The Order will come into operation on 23 November 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 4 days and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
