Canning Town - Temporary Road & Footpath Closures Due To Development Works

Notice of Intent - Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14(1) - Vandome Close, Canning Town, E16 - (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic) Order, 2026

1. THE NEWHAM LONDON BOROUGH COUNCIL hereby gives notice that it intends to make an Order –, Vandome Close, Canning Town, E16, (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic), Order 2026. The general effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrian and vehicular traffic from proceeding or waiting on the public highway.

2. The Order will be made to enable Bugler Developments Ltd and its contractors to safely carry out Development works, on or near the highway.

3. The prohibition applies from Wednesday 11th November 2026 until Wednesday 10th May 2028, or on completion of the works whichever is the sooner.

4. The general effect of which will be to close the various roads as per Schedule 1, at such times when appropriate traffic signs are displayed in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016(c).

5. Vehicular and pedestrian access will be prohibited when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed in accordance with the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016(c).

Any footpath closures will be valid for a maximum of 6 months from the commencement of this Order.

6. This Order will not apply to vehicles used by the Emergency Services, or in connection with the works, provided that the road space is available.
