What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES ORDER)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF WAITING AT ANY TIME ORDER) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council intend, in not less than seven days, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to;
(i) Temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Union Street from a point 17metres south of its junction with St Mary’s Gate to the northerd side of the junction with South Lane.
(ii) Temporary prohibit vehicles from waiting at anytime along Union Street from a point 17metres south of its junction with St Mary’s Gate to the northern side of the junction with South Lane.
The Order is required to facilitate the installation of waste water equipment in a manhole within the carriageway.
The Order will be operative from 19:00 on the 17th November 2026 until 04:00 on the 18th November 2026.
The alternative route for vehicles will be via St Mary’s Gate, Hunters Lane, Union Street & vice versa.
(SMITHY BRIDGE ROAD, LITTLEBOROUGH (7))
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Rochdale Borough Council intend, in not less than seven days, to make an Order, the effect of which will be to;
(i) Temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Smithy Bridge Road from a point 15 metres north west of the level crossing for a distance of 40 metres in a south easterly direction.
The Order is required to facilitate safe annual testing of the Railway Level Crossing.
The Order will be operative from 00:10 on the 15th November 2026 until 05:30 on the 15th November 2026.
The alternative route for vehicles will be via Smithy Bridge Road, Milnrow Road (Littleborough), Wildhouse Lane, Kiln Lane, Bridge Street, Rochdale Road, Milnrow Road (Rochdale), Albert Royds Street, Halifax Road (A58), Smithy Bridge Road & vice versa.
