U9706 HESTER GARDENS TO
THE AVENUE NEW HARTLEY
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVENthat Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the U9706 Hester Gardens to The Avenue from its junction with The Avenue for a distance of 750 metres in a northwesterly direction in the County of Northumberland. The Order is to be effective from the 16th November 2026 until the 1st January 2027.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 16th November 2026 until the 12th December 2026 between the hours of 20:00 and 06:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until the 1st January 2027.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being A190, A192, U9706, U9575, U9706 and vice versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Network Planning Solutions to lay cables and construct chambers. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order DATED this 23rd day of October 2026.
