(Temporary road restriction and Traffic regulation) order 2026 - Temp/26/156
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate infrastructure works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on any part of: (i) falcon ave from the extended east kerbline of Morningside Rd eastwards for 11.5m; and (ii) Cuddy la at Morningside Rd; (iii) steel’s Pl at Morningside Rd; and (iv) Morningside Pk (western access to nos. 212 – 216) from the extended west kerbline of Morningside Rd to the extended north kerbline of Morningside Pk (main carriageway); & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait, or load onto or unload from any vehicle on any part of: (i) Morningside rd from the extended south kerbline of Newbattle Ter, southwards to the extended north kerbline of Canaan La; (ii) Morningside Pl from the extended west kerbline of Morningside Rd, westwards for 24.5m; (iii) falcon ave from the east kerbline of Morningside Rd, eastwards to the extended east kerbline of Falcon Rd; (iv) falcon rd from the extended south kerbline of Falcon Ave, southwards to the extended south kerbline of Falcon Rd West; (v) falcon rd W (north side) (1) from the extended east kerbline of Morningside Rd, eastwards for 43.5m; and (2) from the extended east kerbline of Falcon Ct to the east kerbline of Falcon Rd; (vi) springvalley gdns from the extended west kerbline of Morningside Rd, westwards for 25m; (vii) steel’s Pl in its entirety; (viii) Morningside Pk from the extended west kerbline of Morningside Rd, westwards for 32m; and (ix) Morningside Pk (western access to numbers 212 – 216) from the extended west kerbline of Morningside Rd to the extended north kerbline of Morningside Pk (main carriageway). Existing parking restrictions may be suspended on the affected sections of roads described in (b). There are no alternative routes for through vehicular traffic in relation to the road closures of: (iii) steel’s Pl; and (iv) Morningside Pk (western access to nos. 212 – 216) where local access will not be maintained during the hours of operation. The alternative routes for through vehicular traffic in relation to the road closures will be by way of: (i) falcon ave – Morningside Rd, Falcon Rd W, Falcon Rd and Falcon Ave; and (ii) Cuddy la – Morningside Rd, Springvalley Gdns, Springvalley Ter and Cuddy La. The Order shall have effect from 26/10/26 to 31/03/27.
