What is happening?
CUMBERLAND COUNCIL (C1023 LOW ROW) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Network Rail to carry out works to install a cast crossing (“the Works”), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the C1023, Low Row, which extends for a distance of approx. 20m either side of the centre line of the level crossing.
A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted sections of the C1023, and A69.

The Order will come into operation on 7 November 2026 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 night from 2300 hours on 7 November 2026 to 0830 hours on 8 November 2026, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
