Wonston - Temporary Road Closures due to Water Mains Replacement Works
What is happening?
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE – OLD STOKE ROAD & ALRESFORD DROVE, WONSTON, WINCHESTER
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council intends to make an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.
ROAD TO BE CLOSED:
1. Old Stoke Road between its junction with Alresford Drove and its junction with Weston Down Road.
2. Alresford Drove between its junction with Old Stoke Road and its junction with Drove Links Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Stoke Charity Road, Lovedon Lane, Basingstoke Road, Winchester Road, Weston Down Road, Sloe Lane.
DURATION OF ORDER: from Monday 2nd November 2026 for a period of 12 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 6 months and this order will be in operation 24 hours a day).
This closure will not be active between the dates Friday 18th December 2026 to Tuesday 5th January 2027.
