What is happening?
THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Leicestershire County Council intends not less than 7 days from the date of this Notice to make the following Orders under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1984. The works will be completed within the period of the Orders and will commence when the appropriate signs are erected.
The Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders are being enforced for public safety.
BIRSTALL ROAD, BIRSTALL TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL THROUGH TRAFFIC ORDER 2026
It is expected that the Order will come into force on 19/11/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works may last for up to 1 day to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake carriageway patching.
The proposed diversion route will be via: Birstall Rd, Birstall; Red Hill Circle, Loughborough Rd, Leicester; Loughborough Rd, School Ln, Birstall Rd, Birstall & vice versa.

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 16/11/2026 and have a maximum duration of 18 months. The works may last for up to 8 days to allow Leicestershire County Council & their contractors to undertake various highways maintenance works. The proposed diversion route will be signed on site.

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 16/11/2026 and have a maximum duration of 6 months. The works may last for up to 3 months to allow C3 Construction Ltd to undertake the construction of a new 2m wide bridleway in tarmac. The proposed diversion route will be signed on site.

The Order will come into force on 27/10/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works may last for up to 1 day to allow Leicestershire County Council to undertake Jet & CCTV gullies within the parking bays.

It is expected that the Order will come into force on 26/10/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works may last for up to 3 days to allow MJ Quinn on behalf of BT Openreach to undertake installation of a new telegraph pole & ducting.

The Order will come into force on 26/10/2026 and have a maximum duration of 3 months. The works may last for up to 1 week to allow MJ Quinn Ltd to undertake Telecoms Pole replacement works. The proposed diversion route will be via: A46, Seagrave Rd, Thrussington & vice versa.
