SECTION 14 – THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
NOTICE OF TRAFFIC ORDERS FOR TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES
Notice is given that SWINDON BOROUGH COUNCIL intend to make following orders:
(STR001476 M4 Overbridge, Wroughton) This Order is being introduced for National Highways Safety Scheme and will impose a closure of the footway, the carriageway reduced to one lane and a 30mph speed restriction on the Croft Road between Woodland View and B4006 Junction. The Order comes into the force on the 1 November 2026 for 18 months.
(STR001440 Bowleymed, Swindon) This Order is introduced for SSEN WORKS and will impose a temporary closure of the footways in Bowleymed as and when necessary. The closures will be phased with signage in place to indicate which footway is closed. Pedestrian to be diverted via alternative footways. The Order comes into force on the 23 November 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to be completed by 19 March 2027.
(STR001454 Burytown Lane, Blunsdon) This Order is introduced for CIRCET UK LTD WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Burytown Lane between Churchway and Upper Burytown Farm. Traffic to be diverted via Sams Lane and B4019 and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 26 November 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place on the 26 and 27 November 2026.
(STR001455 Little Hinton Lane, Hinton Parva) This Order is introduced for SSEN WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Little Hinton Lane between Tuckers Lane and Church Row. Traffic to be diverted via Hinton Hill, The Ridgeway, Ermin Way, Hinton Road, Hinton Parva Lane and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 25 November 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place on the 25 November 2026 between the times of 09:00 and 18:00 hours.
(STR001457 Purley Road, Liddington) This Order is introduced for RESURFACING WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Purley Road from the junction with Commonhead Roundabout for a distance of 100 metres. Traffic to be diverted via A346 Marlborough Road. The Order comes into force on the 30 November 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place on the 30 November 2026 to 7 December 2026 working overnight between the times of 20:00 and 06:00 hours.
(STR001433 Hay Lane, Wroughton) This Order is introduced for OPENREACH WORKS and will impose prohibition of driving on Hay Lane at Basset Down. Traffic to be diverted via A4361, Wharf Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 19 November 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place on the 19 November 2026 between the times of 9:30 and 15:30 hours.
(STR001456 Highworth Road, South Marston) This Order is being introduced for CLEARVIEW and will impose a prohibition of driving on Highworth Road outside the Memorial Park. Traffic to be diverted via Highworth Road, Holbey Drive, Swindon Road, Oxford Road, A420, Thornhill Road and vice versa. The Order comes into force on the 30 November 2026 for 6 months but works are expected to take place overnight between 30 November to 1 December 2026.
