What is happening?

NOTICE is hereby given that Herefordshire Council, as highway authority, intend, under its relevant powers, to make the following Order: C1105, Ivington Road, Newtown, Temporary Road Closure Order, to temporarily prohibit the use by vehicles on the C1105, Ivington Road, Newtown, outside Corner Cottage. Grid Ref:347634/257505.
The alternative route for those affected by the proposal is via the C1106, onto the U93600, onto the B4361, then onto the U93608 and vice versa.
The said closure is required due to drainage improvement works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place. The said closure will come into force on 4th of November 2026 and remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months (unless extended with the consent of the Secretary of State) but the works are expected to be completed within 2 days.
