(WOMERSLEY ROAD, KNOTTINGLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 297) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for annual level crossing inspection, to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Womersley Road, Knottingley for approximately 20 metres either side of the level crossing. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Womersley Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Womersley Road, Spawd Bone Lane, Headlands Lane, Hill Top, Weeland Road & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 20th October 2026 to 21st October 2026, 22.30 hours to 05.30 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 299) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for new electricity connection & fuse upgrade, to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Mill Hill, Ackworth for approximately 35 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Mill Hill.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Hill Drive, Went Hill Close, Pontefract Road & vice versa.

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Cutsyke Avenue, Castleford for approximately 90 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Cutsyke Avenue.

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Park Road, Castleford. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Park Road.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Park Road, Stainburn Avenue & vice versa. Residents access to be maintained where possible.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 19th October 2026 to 30th October 2026 08.00 hours to 16.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Spawd Bone Lane, Knottingley from Simpsons Lane to Hazel Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Spawd Bone Lane.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for BB line sewer, to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Broadway Terrace, South Elmsall. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Broadway Terrace.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Broadway & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 21st October 2026 from 08.00 hours to 17.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER (NO 316) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to allow for gas main replacement to be carried out as follows:-
ROADS AFFECTED: Southmoor Road, Hemsworth from the roundabout to Meadow Croft.
SPEED LIMIT: Temporary 30 MPH speed limit.
PERIOD OF ORDER: From and including 2nd November 2026 to 13th November 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
(SANDRINGHAM AVENUE, KNOTTINGLEY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 317) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for new electrical connection to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Sandringham Avenue, Knottingley. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Sandringham Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: No diversion, cul de sac. Residents access maintained where possible.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 2nd November 2026 to 6th November 2026 between 07.00 hours to 17.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 320) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for Northern Gas works to be carried out as follows:
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Linden Terrace, Pontefract for approximately 13 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Linden Terrace.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Love Lane, Hartley Park Lane, Hartley Park View, Halfpenny Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 2nd November 2026 to 13th November 2026, 08.00 hours to 16.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Residents access to be maintained where possible.

(PUBLIC FOOTPATH 15, SOUTH VIEW, FEATHERSTONE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE) ORDER (NO 183) 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for repair of a collapsed wall to be carried out on or near Footpath 15, South View, Featherstone, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, has made an Order the effect of which is that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.
Alternative route for pedestrians:
The order comes into operation on 4th June 2026 to 22nd April 2027.
The closure was originally due to be in force until the 22nd October 2026, however the Secretary of State for Transport has approved the extension of the closure until 22nd April 2027 as above.
