Westmorland and Furness - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(A683, CASTERTON AND CHURCH ROAD, U5170, ALLITHWAITE)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out (“the Works”), Westmorland and Furness Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along that section of the;

(i)A683, Casterton, from its junction with Colliers Lane, extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 615 metres. Northbound Traffic Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A683, A65, Burton Road, Lound Road, Kirkland (A6), Highgate, Lowther Street, New Road, Blackhall Road, Sandes Avenue, Station Road, Longpool, Sandylands Road and the A684.

Southbound Traffic Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the A683, A684, Sandylands Road, Appleby Road (A685), Longpool (A6), Wildman Street (A65), Stramongate, New Road, Aynham Road, Lound Road, Burton Road and the A65. Duration: From 2nd November 2026 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/19208)

(ii)Church Road, Allithwaite, from its junction with The Square, extending in a Southerly direction for approx.115metres. (iii)U5170, Allithwaite, from its junction with Church Road, extending in an easterly direction for approx. 15 metres. Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of Church Road, B5277 and The Square. Duration: From 2nd November 2026 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/20658)
