The reason for the closure is for safety during pole testing works

The reason for the closure and restriction is for carriageway works. There will be no stopping, loading or waiting permitted throughout the duration of the works.

The reason for the restriction is to ensure public safety during construction works.

Notice is hereby given that Gloucestershire County Council in exercise of its enabling powers under Section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 proposes to introduce a 20mph zone on the roads detailed in the Schedule below:

Schedule - 20mph Zone

The lengths of roads fall within the Parish of Alderton in the Tewkesbury Borough within the County of Gloucestershire.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has further extended the Order to close temporarily under Sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 (as amended) part of Public Footpath MPA 156 in the Parish of Painswick from its junction with Knapp Lane in a generally South Easterly direction for approximately 5 metres.

The closure is necessary to safeguard the public while building works are completed This temporary closure Order came into force on the 4th May 2026 and was expected to end on the 4th November 2026. However, the works have still not been completed and the Secretary of State has granted an extension until 10th September 2027 or until the works are complete, whichever is earliest.

The reason for the closures is for an Electrical supply alteration.

The said Footpath and Footway are expected to be closed, during various times, on a rolling programme commencing 26th October 2026 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether the closures are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be displayed on site prior to the closures taking effect. This Order can permit the closure of the road in any order, or simultaneously as required. It is anticipated all works will be completed by 27th November 2026.
