ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14
(PUBLIC FOOTPATH MR2 (PART) – COTTERSTOCK)
(TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that North Northamptonshire Council intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along that length of Public Footpath MR2 (Part) in Cotterstock as specified below. Private access to land or premises adjacent to the said length of footpath are unaffected.

RIGHT OF WAY TO WHICH RESTRICTION APPLIES: The route to be closed starts on Public Footpath MR2 in the Parish of Cotterstock at point A on the map at National Grid Reference (NGR) SP 504634/290204. The route travels South for approximately 17 metres to point B on the map at (NGR) SP 504628/290189.

REASON FOR RESTRICTION: The restriction is required in the interest of health and safety – refurbishment works on lock for environment agency including scaffolding and painting the gate which is adjacent to the existing bridge. An application may be made for the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport for this Order to be extended if this proves necessary. However, the restriction specified will have effect only at such times and to such extent as is indicated by the display of notices.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: The alternative route starts on Public Footpath MR2 in the parish of Cotterstock at point A on the map at NGR SP 504634/290204.
