What is happening?
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS LOCATIONS, BASSETLAW) (TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2026 (BS26-337)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Sturton le Steeple, West Burton, Bole in the District of Bassetlaw.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. No vehicle shall proceed at a speed exceeding 40 mph in the following length at road Sturton le Steeple, West Burton Bole and Saundby.
a) Gainsborough Road, Sturton le Steeple - From a point 200 metres North of its junction with Station Road to its junction with Sturton Road, West Burton
b) Sturton Road, West Burton - for its entire length
c) Sturton Road, Bole - From its junction with Sturton Road, West Burton for its entire Length.
d) Bole Corner Roundabout, Bole - For its entire length.
e) Saundy Road, Bole - From its junction Bole Corner Roundabout, Bole for a distance of 110 metres in a Northerly direction
1. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
2. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 09:00 Monday 2nd November 2026
Until 23:59 hours Friday 26th March 2027
The Order will come into force on Monday 2nd November 2026 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Cadent to carry out Gas Mains Replacement Works
