Notice is hereby given that National Highways Limited intends to make an Order on the M2 Motorway in theCounty of Kent and the Unitary Authority of Medway under Section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road by contractors working on behalf of UKPN.

The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of:-

a) both carriageways of the M2 between Junction 3 (A229) and Junction 4 (A278); and
b) all the roads leading to and from the above lengths of carriageway.

These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake high voltage cabling replacement and all associated works.

It is expected that the works would take place between Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd November starting at 20:00 hours until 05:00 hours.

This is subject to the possibility of re-scheduling, please check The National Highways website for details. The Order would come into force on 19th November 2026 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months, ceasing when the works are complete.

Traffic affected by the closures would be strategically diverted using the A229, M20, and A249 (M2 Junction 5) in either direction.

The temporary closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works period.
