What is happening?

Wrexham County Borough Council intends to make a TEMPORARY (PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 effective from 26/10/2026 prohibiting any vehicle from using that length of Deva Way, Caia Park, between its junction with Kingsley Circle roundabout, and its junction with Cranford Road, a distance of 118m. This is to enable O’Connor Utilities on behalf of Scottish Power to replace the electrical mains in the carriageway and footway. The road closure will be one-way, with traffic flow in a westerly direction. Works will take place in 2 phases:

1. 26th - 30th October 2026 – Excavation on southern side of Deva Way during school half term.

2. 9th November to 24th December 2026 – Excavation on northern side of Deva Way

The alternative route for vehicles affected by the closure is via Cranford Road, Tower View and Eaton Drive and Kingsley Circle roundabout, which will be signposted accordingly. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the period of closure. The prohibition is expected to last for 3 months (25/01/27), or until completion of the works if earlier, with a maximum duration of 18 months.
