West Sussex County Council

(Rusper: Public Footpath No. 1492)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2026

NOTICE is hereby given that WSCC made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to close a section of Public Footpath No. 1492, from its junction with Friday Street (518593.635, 136920.177) eastwards to its junction with High Street (520534.855, 137375.880), a distance of 2260 m

The Order is necessary to protect public safety due to a landslip having halted planned resurfacing works and making the path unsafe to use.

Unfortunately there are no alternative routes available using the Public Rights of Way network.

The Order came into effect on 10 October 2026 and will last for 6 months.

Any queries about the effect of the Order on users of the Public Footpath should be directed to Rights of Way Team, WSCC, telephone number 01243 777620.

Dated 8 October 2026
