Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
SEVENOAKS AREA
A25 Main Road, Sundridge, TN14 6DG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of full width carriageway resurfacing, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A25 Main Road, Sundridge, on or after 22nd October 2026 for up to 2 nights between 20.00hrs and 05.00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Church Road and New Roade.
The alternative route is via A25 High Street (Brasted), A25 Westerham Road, B233 Beggars Lane, A233 London Road, A233 Westerham Hill, A233 Main Road, A233 Leaves Green Road, A233 Westerham Road, A232 Croydon Road, A21 Farnborough Common, A21 Farnborough Way, A21 Sevenoaks Road, A224 Orpington By-pass, A224 London Road, A224 Polhill, A224 Morants Court Road, A224 London Road, A25 Worships Hill, A25 Westerham Road and vice versa.
A225 Shoreham Road, Eynsford, DA4 0HP (30MPH SPEED LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily impose a mandatory 30MPH speed limit on part of A225 Shoreham Road, Eynsford. The current 60MPH speed limit will be suspended for the duration of these works.
Restrictions are planned from 19th October 2026, with estimated completion by 20th November 2026.
A225 Shoreham Road will have a mandatory 30MPH speed limit. The current speed limit be suspended between the railway bridge and the public footpath gate, for the duration of these works.
B2027 Chequers Hill, Bough Beech, TN8 7PH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of brickwork repairs, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2027 Chequers Hill, Bough Beech, on or after 19th October 2026 for up to 3 nights between 22.00hrs and 05.00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 20m either side of the railway bridge.
The alternative route is via Hever Road, Uckfield Lane, Cowden Pound Road, B2026 Hartfield Road, A264 Colestock Road, East Grinstead Road/Watch Oak Hill/Ashurst Hill/Ashurst Road, B2188 Fordcombe Road/Spring Hill/Saints Hill/New Road/High Street, B276 Penshurst Road/Penshurst Lane, B2027 Hildenborough Road/Stocks Green Road/Rings Hill, Watts Cross Road, B245 London Road, Weald Interchange/A225 Riverhill/Tonbridge Road, A225 High Street, A224 London Road, A224 Amherst Hill, London Road Roundabout, A25 The Square, A25 Worships Hill/Westerham Road/Main Road/High Street/Westerham Road/Vicarage Hill/ Market Square/High Street/Westerham Road, B269 Kent Hatch Road/Spout Lane/Pootings Road, B2027 Bough Beech Road and vice versa.
B2188 New Road, Penshurst, TN11 8EA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of drainage cleansing works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2188 New Road, Penshurst, on or after 23rd October 2026 for up to 1 day between 09:30hrs an 15:30hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from Saints Hill to Smarts Hille.
The alternative route is via B2188 Fordcombe Road, B2188 High Street, B2176 High Street, B2176 Rogues Hill, B2176 Penshurst Road, B2176 Bidborough Ridge, A26 London Road, A26 St Johns Road, A26 Mount Ephraim, A264 Mount Ephraim, A264 Bishops Down, A264 Langton Road, A264 Ashurst Road, B2188 Fordcombe Road, B2188 Spring Hill, B2188 Saints Hill and vice versa.
Bethel Road, Sevenoaks, TN13 3TW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND ONE WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of the installation of a new electricity supply for a customer, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bethel Road, Sevenoaks, on or after 2nd November 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 47.
The alternative route for:
Vehicles travelling north along Bethel Road - Holly Bush Lane, Bayham Road, Quakers Hall Lane.
Vehicles travelling south along Bethel Road - Quakers Hall Lane, A225 St Johns Hill, Holly Bush Lane, Cedar Terrace Road.
Chafford Lane, Fordcombe, TN3 0SP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of the replacement of one existing telegraph pole and rehang associated cabling, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Chafford Lane, Fordcombe, on or after 3rd November 2026 for up to 2 days between 08:00hrs and 16:00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Bradley Road and 2, Chafford Cottages.
The alternative route is via Chafford Lane, B2188 Spring Hill, Sandfield Road, Walters Green Road and vice versa.
Firmingers Road, Orpington, BR6 7QG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of tree cutting to keep branches away from power lines, ensuring safe and reliable electricity supplies, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Firmingers Road, Orpington, on or after 3rd November 2026 for up to 1 day between 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from outside Rosedene for approx. 400m in a southerly direction.
The alternative route is via Well Hill, Rock Hill and vice versa.
Hever Road, Edenbridge, TN8 5LD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Scotia Gas Networks works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hever Road, Edenbridge, on or after 19th October 2026 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between Burnt Oak Farm and Warsop Trading Estate.
The alternative route is via Hever Road, Uckfield Lane, Buckhurst, Cowden Pound Road, B2026 Stick Hill/Hartfield Road/Mill Hill and vice versa.
Highlands Hill, Swanley, BR8 7NA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of a BT pole test, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Highlands Hill, Swanley, on or after 21st October 2026 for up to 1 day between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Tudor House.
The alternative route is via Highlands Hill, B258 Main Road/Top Dartford Road/Barn End Lane/High Road/Church Hill, A225 Hawley Road, Ship Lane, Wood Street, Swanley Village Road and vice versa.
London Road, West Kingsdown, TN15 6ER (CYCLE LANE SUSPENSION) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of the installation of a private vehicle crossing, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily suspend the cycle lane on part of London Road, West Kingsdown, on or after 2nd November 2026 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Second Bungalow 6A.
The cycle lane will be suspended westbound outside Second Bungalow 6A.
Ovenden Road, Sundridge, TN14 6AL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of the replacement of one existing telegraph pole and rehang associated cabling, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ovenden Road, Sundridge, on or after 3rd November 2026 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed adjacent to Chevening Road.
The alternative route is via Ovenden Road, Pilgrims Way, Brasted Hill Road, Rectory Lane, A25 High Street/Main Road, B2211 Chevening Road and vice versa.
Pilgrims Way, Kemsing, TN15 6BF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of UK Power Networks works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Pilgrims Way, Kemsing, on or after 2nd November 2026 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 93.
The alternative route is via Childsbridge Lane, West End, The Landway and vice versa.
Ridge Way, Edenbridge, TN8 6AH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of the urgent alteration of a gas service, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Ridge Way, Edenbridge, on or after 2nd November 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside number 73.
The alternative route is via Crown Road, Swan Lane, Swan Ridge and vice versa.
School Lane, Seal, TN15 0BF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of South East Water works, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of School Lane, Seal, on or after 19th October 2026 for up to 2 nights between 19.00hrs and 06.00hrs or until the works have been completed. The One Way will be suspended to allow access.
The road will be closed outside 1 School Cottages.
The alternative route is via A25 High Street/Seal Road, A225 Otford Road/Sevenoaks Road/Station Road, Pilgrims Way East, Pilgrims Way, Chiddingstone Lane and vice versa.
St Georges Road, Swanley, BR8 8AX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Georges Road, Swanley, on or after 3rd November 2026 for up to 1 night between 22.00hrs and 06.00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 20m either side of railway bridge.
There is no alternative route but access will be given as and when safe to do so.
Station Road, Cowden, TN8 7DS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd works, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Station Road, Cowden, on or after 8th November 2026 for up to 1 night between 01:05hrs and 04:00hrs or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 20m either side of railway bridge.
The alternative route is via Blowers Hill, Cow Lane, Cowden Pound Road, B2026 Hartfield Road, Station Road and vice versa.
The Green, Westerham, TN16 1AX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPEND ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2026
Because of a new water connection, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Green, Westerham, on or after 19th October 2026 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed. The One Way will be suspended to allow access.
The road will be closed outside number 13.
The alternative route is via A25 Vicarage Hill and vice versa.
