What is happening?

THE NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (HORSHAM AND NEWTON ST FAITHS, C253 CHURCH STREET) PROPOSED SPEED LIMIT ORDER 202X AND SHARED USE FOOTWAY/CYCLE TRACK NOTICE 2026

Norfolk County Council propose to make the following Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The Norfolk County Council (Horsham and Newton St Faiths, Various Roads) (30 mph Speed Limit) Consolidation and Variation Order 202X

The effect of the Order is to:

1. consolidate The Norfolk County Council (Horsham St Faiths) (30 mph Speed Limit) Order 1998 whereby the 30 mph speed limit on the existing lengths of road specified in that Order will not be changed apart from the length of road set out in point 2 below; and

2. vary the existing reference to the C253 Church Street and replace the current description with “from the centreline of its junction with U57647 West Lane westwards to its junction with the A140 Cromer Road”.

The effect of this change will be to extend the 30mph restriction along the C253 Church Street by 348 metres. This will be a change to the existing national speed limit.

The existing Order is proposed to be consolidated for clarity and efficient administration of the restrictions. As part of the consolidation the existing Order is being updated to reflect current legislation, or is being clarified to make it clearer, or being amended to correct minor errors. The reference to ‘vehicles’ is being updated to ‘motor vehicles’ to reflect current legislation.
