Redbridge Causeway - Temporary Overnight Road Closure due to Manhole Cover Repair Works
What is happening?
THE CITY OF SOUTHAMPTON (REDBRIDGE CAUSEWAY) (ROAD CLOSURE) (227/67) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 Southampton City Council intends to make the above Order.
1. The effect of the Order will be to close Redbridge Causeway (on-slip), 8pm - 6am, from its junction with Redbridge Road roundabout, westwards for 185m.
2. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road. These works are for manhole cover repairs.
3. The alternative route will be Redbridge Roundabout, Redbridge Road, Millbrook Roundabout, Redbridge Road, Redbridge Flyover, Redbridge Causeway.
4. The Order will come into force on 19th October 2026 and has a maximum duration of 18 months or until the completion of the works, whichever is sooner. It is expected that the works will be complete by 30th October 2026.
