TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s): ORDER NO. MCC152887183: The City of Manchester (New College Street & Gartside Street, Deansgate Ward) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2026 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on New College Street between the carpark entrance and Gartside Street & Gartside Street between Quay Street and New College Street.
The alternative routes for traffic will be: Bridge Street, Deansgate, Quay Street & Quay Street, Trinity Way, Blackfriars Street or via Salford City Council's diversion route when deployed.
The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a crane for adjacent development.
It is expected that the works will be in progress from 24th October 2026 to 29th October 2026.
The order shall come into operation on 24th October 2026 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
