(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 295) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for new electricity connection, to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Westfield Avenue, Knottingley for approximately 30 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Westfield Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A Residents access to be maintained where possible.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 15th October 2026 to 21st October 2026, 08.00 hours to 18.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 296) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for renewal of fire hydrant, to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Water Lane, Pontefract. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Water Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Bondgate, Box Lane, Ferrybridge Road.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 15th October 2026 to 16th October 2026, 19.00 hours to 06.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Residents access to be maintained where possible.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for track access, to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: High Street, Castleford 20 metres either side of the level crossing. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of High Street.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: High Street, Albion Street, Wood Street, Methley Road, Lumley Street & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 26th October 2026 to 30th October 2026 from 23.45 hours to 05.30 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(COMMON ROAD AVENUE, SOUTH KIRKBY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 307) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for Yorkshire Water to complete sewer lining works, to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Common Road Avenue, South Kirkby at the junction with Common Road. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Common Road Avenue.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A. Cul de sac. Access maintained for residents via traffic marshal onsite when the road is closed.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 28th October 2026 to 29th October 2026, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for gully cleansing to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Mill Lane, Old Snydale from the junction with New Road to junction with Netheroyd Backs. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Mill Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Either Church Lane, Normanton Bypass, Wakefield Road, Crossley Street, High Street, Whinney Lane & vice versa or New Road, Common Side Lane, Wakefield Road, Whinney Lane & vice versa.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 26th October 2026 between 07.30 hours and 15.30 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(MARLPIT LANE, DARRINGTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 313) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for gas works to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Marlpit Lane, Darrington. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Marlpit Lane.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Marlpit Lane, Furlong Lane, Spitalgap Lane, Baghill Lane, Chequerfield Lane, East Drive, West Drive, Monument Lane, Swanhill Lane, Carlton Road.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 26th October 2026 to 8th November 2026 between 08.00 hours to 16.00 hours or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Residents access to be maintained where possible.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
(ONWARD WAY, SOUTH KIRKBY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO 314) 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds f or the development and formation of a new phase of the industrial estate to be opened up to be carried out as follows:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Onward Way, South Kirkby below the entrance to Unit 16a for 10 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Onward Way.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: No diversion as this is a dead end.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 26th October 2026 to 25th April 2028 or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner. Residents access to be maintained where possible.
Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.
