(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A119 NORTH ROAD, HERTFORD) ORDER NO.2 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A119 North Road, Hertford from its junction with the B1000 Welwyn Road roundabout south eastwards to its junction with the Beane Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 70m (“the Road”). 

An alternative route will be via A119 (North Road/High Road/Hertford Road), A602 (Ware Road/Tonwell Bypass/Westmill Road), A10 (unnamed road), A414 (Rush Green Link/London Road/Gascoyne Way/Hertingfordbury Road) and A119 (Cross Lane/North Road).

The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 29 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 1 day to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT MEASURES ON BEESTON DRIVE AND VARIOUS FOOTPATHS IN CHESHUNT) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:- 

1. To prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following length of road (“the Road”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of Road whilst works are in progress:- 

a) that length of Beeston Drive, Cheshunt from its junction with Brookfield Lane northwards, eastwards, northwards and westwards for its entire length. 

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. To prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath (“the Footpath”):-

a) the footpath fronting Nos.13-20 Beeston Drive, Cheshunt from its southernmost junction with Beeston Drive northwards and eastwards for a distance of approximately 32m. 

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the south and east sides of Beeston Drive.

b) the footpath situated between No.22 and No.23 Beeston Drive, Cheshunt from its junction with Beeston Drive westwards for a distance of approximately 13m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works. 

c) the footpath situated on the east side of No.12 Beeston Drive, Cheshunt from its junction with northernmost junction with Beeston Drive south westwards and southwards for a distance of approximately 28m.

An alternative route will be via the footways situated on the south, east and south sides of Beeston Drive. 

d) the footpath situated on the north side of No.6 and No.7 Beeston Drive, Cheshunt from its junction with Beeston Drive westwards for a distance of approximately 23m.

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of Beeston Drive, the footway situated on the north side of Brookfield Lane West and the footpath situated on the west side of Nos.1-3 Beeston Drive. 

e) the footpath situated on the east side of No.37and No.38 Beeston Drive, Cheshunt from its junction with Beeston Drive northwards for a distance of approximately 23m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road and Footpaths.

The Order will come into effect from 26 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 6 months. The works are scheduled to take 5 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road and Footpaths.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF GREENHILLS, WARE) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Greenhills, Ware from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.18 Greenhills south westwards for a distance of approximately 20m (“the Road”).

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works. The Order is needed because electrical works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 24 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 3 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHURCHFIELD ROAD, TEWIN) ORDER NO.2 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Churchfield Road, Tewin from its junction with Margery Lane north westwards and south westwards to its junction with Tewin Restricted Byway No.005, a distance of approximately 254m (“the Road”). 

An alternative route will be via Churchfield Road, School Lane, Lower Green, Upper Green Road, Upper Green, Orchard Road, Harmer Green Lane, New Road, Harmer Green Lane, Hertford Road, B1000 Hertford Road and Churchfield Road. 

The Order is needed because gas works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into effect from 26 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS ROADS IN WESTMILL, PUCKERIDGE, HODDESDON, ASTON, WALTHAM CROSS AND WORMLEY) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:- 

1. that length of 3U20 (unnamed road), Westmill from its junction with The Street south eastwards to its junction with C16 (unnamed road), a distance of approximately 1410m.

An alternative route will be via Aspenden Road, London Road, A10 (unnamed road), the A10 Puckeridge Bypass/B1368 Buntingford Road roundabout, A10 (unnamed road), Station Hill and C16 (unnamed road). 

2. that length of High Street, Puckeridge from its junction with Tollsworth Way south westwards for a distance of approximately 130m. 

An alternative route will be via High Street, Buntingford Road, B1368 Buntingford Road, A10 Puckeridge Bypass, A120 Standon Hill, Cambridge Road and High Street.

3. the road situated on the south side of No.74 Lampits, Hoddesdon from its junction with Lampits north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works. 

4. that length of School Lane, Aston from its junction with Aston End Road eastwards to its junction with Brook End, a distance of approximately 74 metres. 

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works. 

5. that length of Swanfield Road, Waltham Cross from its junction with Central Avenue north westwards to its junction with Royal Avenue, a distance of approximately 190m. 

An alternative route will be via Central Avenue, Gloucester Avenue and Royal Avenue.

6. that length of Warners Avenue, Hoddesdon from its junction with Cock Lane south eastwards to its junction with Benford Road, a distance of approximately 171m.

An alternative route will be via Cock Lane, Park Lane and Benford Road. 

7. that length of Brook Field, Aston from its junction with School Lane south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length. There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works. 

8. that length of Westlea Close, Wormley from its junction with Westlea Road south westwards for its entire length. There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 27 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MADGEWAYS LANE, GREAT AMWELL) ORDER 2026

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Madgeways Lane, Great Amwell from its junction with Cautherly Lane north westwards to its junction with A1170 Amwell Hill, a distance of approximately 299m (“the Road”), except for access. 

An alternative route will be via Cautherly Lane and A1170 Pepper Hill. 

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

3. that length of Rosedale Avenue, Cheshunt from its junction with Wolsey Avenue north eastwards for its entire length.

4. that length of Hargreaves Close, Cheshunt from its junction with Hargreaves Avenue south westwards for its entire length.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:- 

1. that length of Westfield Road, Hoddesdon from its junction with B1197 Hertford Road south westwards to its junction with Paddick Close, a distance of approximately 406m.

There is no alternative route available, but access will be maintained wherever possible throughout the duration of the works.

2. that length of Norris Lane, Hoddesdon from its junction with Norris Rise north westwards to its junction with Westfield Road, a distance of approximately 97m.

An alternative route will be via Norris Lane, Winterscroft Road, Langton Road, Lord Street, Taverners Way, Pauls Way, Amwell Street, A1170 Amwell Street, B1197 Hertford Road and Westfield Road. 

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:- 

1. that length of Bowling Road, Ware from its junction with B1004 Star Street north eastwards to its junction with Musley Lane, a distance of approximately 410m. 
An alternative route will be via B1004 Star Street, Cross Street, Garland Road and Musley Lane.

2. that length of Gore Lane, Barwick from its junction with Ermine Street south eastwards to its junction with Barwick Road, a distance of approximately 1700m. 
An alternative route will be via Ermine Street, A120 Standon Hill and Barwick Road.

3. that length of King George Road, Ware from its junction with Musley Lane north eastwards to its junction with Fanhams Road, a distance of approximately 320m.
An alternative route will be via Musley Lane, Trinity Road and Fanhams Road. 

4. that length of Heath Drive, Ware from its westernmost junction with Kingsway north westwards, eastwards and south eastwards to its easternmost junction with Kingsway, a distance of approximately 825m.
An alternative route will be via Kingsway.

5. that length of Rockfield Avenue, Ware from its westernmost junction with Heath Drive north eastwards to its easternmost junction with Heath Drive, a distance of approximately 206m. An alternative route will be via Heath Drive.

6. that length of Hammondstreet Road, Cheshunt from its junction with Oaklands Road south eastwards to its junction with The Laurels, a distance of approximately 100m.

An alternative route will be via Hammondstreet Road, Darnicle Hill, Newgate Street, Newgate Street Village, Carbone Hill, B157 (The Ridgeway/Ridgeway East/Plough Hill), B156 (Station Road/Cuffley Hill/Goffs Lane/Churchgate Road/Flamstead End Road), Flamstead End Road, Longfield Lane and Dig Dag Hill.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order will come into effect from 12 October 2026 and will be valid for a period of 18 months. The works are scheduled to take 7 days to complete and will only take effect on the days and times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
