The closure has been requested by OCU Group in order to install duct in the footway. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.

HEXHAM SPOOK NIGHT 2026 TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2026 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 16A
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council (“the Council”), in exercise of its powers as the local traffic authority under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and all other enabling powers, has on the 02 October 2026 made the Northumberland County Council Hexham Spook Night 2026 Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2026 (“the TTRO”).
The Council has made the TTRO for the purposes of facilitating the holding of Hexham Spook Night 2026 (“the Event”) by restricting traffic on the U8290 Beaumont Street for its entire length and the U8290 Market Place for its entire length (“the Road”).
The TTRO shall come into force at 06:00 hours on 31 October 2026 and will remain in force until 23:59 hours on 31 October 2026, subject to the provisions of section 16B of the Act.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the B6305, the A6079, Alemouth Road, Haugh Lane and vice versa, Alexander Place, Giles Place, Gilesgate, Market Street, Hallstile Bank and vice versa and the B6305, the B6532, Eilansgate and vice versa.
Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.
All restrictions on the Road will be sign-posted and staffed and will remain in force only for as long as is necessary.
Nothing in the TTRO shall apply to:
a. Any activities taking place on the Road related to the organisation and holding of the Event;
b. Anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police officer or a Duly Authorised Officer of the Council.
c. Any vehicle being used by, or for the purposes of, the emergency services;
d. Any vehicle being used by or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker (e.g. the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which requires vehicles to be brought onto the Road); or
e. Pedestrian access to any premises adjoining the Road.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
A696 MONKRIDGE TO OTTERBURN OTTERBURN (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the A696 Monkridge to Otterburn from its point with the gable end of Monkridge Hall heading in a south eastwards direction for a distance of 100 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 3rd November 2026 until the 9th November 2026.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 3rd November 2026 until the 4th November 2026 between the hours of 09:30 & 15:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 9th November 2026.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via A696, A68, B6342 and vice versa. Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Kelly Traffic Management on behalf of BT Openreach for overhead cabling works.
