What is happening?

A695 SCOTSWOOD ROAD AND WILLIAM ARMSTRONG DRIVE
(i) City of Newcastle upon Tyne Traffic Regulation (Consolidation) Order 2009 (A695 Scotswood Road Variation) Order 2026
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne propose to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 29 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which amends the City of Newcastle upon Tyne Traffic Regulation (Consolidation) Order 2009 (“the 2009 Consolidation Order”).
2. The effect of the proposed Order is to -
(a) introduce a prohibition of left-hand turn restriction for all vehicles from A695 Scotswood Road into William Armstrong Drive, and
(b) introduce a prescribed left-hand turn restriction for all vehicles from William Armstrong Drive into A695 Scotswood Road.
(ii) (Bus Lanes) Traffic Regulation Order 2014 (William Armstrong Drive Variation) Order 2026
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne propose to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 19 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 which amends the City of Newcastle upon Tyne (Bus Lanes) Traffic Regulation Order 2014 (“the 2014 Order”).
2. The effect of the proposed Order is to extend the bus lane on William Armstrong Drive westbound (nearside lane) - from its junction with A695 Scotswood Road in a south easterly direction for 120 metres. The bus lane currently runs from a point 25 metres south of its junction with Scotswood Road in a south easterly direction for 90 metres.
The Bus Lane will operate all days, 7am to 7pm. Only local buses and pedal cycles will be allowed in the bus lane during the times of operation.
