NOTICE OF AN APPLICATION FOR THE REGISTRATION OF LAND AS A TOWN OR VILLAGE GREEN
To every reputed owner, lessee, tenant or occupier of any part of the land described in the Schedule below, and to all others whom it may concern.
Application has been made to the registration authority, Birmingham City Council at the Council House, Victoria Square, Birmingham B1 1BB (“the Authority”) by Calthorpe Residents Society, c/o Nick Brown of 25 Aston Bury, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 3QB, under section 15(1) of the Commons Act 2006 and in accordance with the Commons (Registration of Town or Village Greens) (Interim Arrangements) (England) Regulations 2007. The application seeks the inclusion in the register of town and village greens of the land described in the Schedule below which is claimed to have qualified for registration as a town or village green on 1 July 2026 by virtue of the continuous usage by a significant number of the inhabitants of the neighbourhood within the locality, for lawful sports and pastimes as of right on the land for a period of at least 20 years.
The application, which includes a plan of the land proposed for registration may be inspected at the following office: the Council House, Victoria Square, Birmingham B1 1BB between the hours of 9am to 5pm Mondays to Thursdays and 9am to 4pm on Fridays.
If the registration authority is satisfied that the land described below qualifies for registration as a town or village green, it will so register the land.
Any person wishing to object to the registration of the land as a town or village green should send a statement of the facts on which the objection is based to Sonia Banger, Legal and Governance Department, Council House, Victoria Square, Birmingham B1 1BB (quoting reference LS/PLG/SOB/249393 on or before 13 November 2026. Any representations are to be taken into account by the Authority in reaching a decision on the application and cannot be treated as confidential and will be copied to the applicant for comment and may be disclosed to other interested parties.

The irregular shaped area of land in Edgbaston in the City of Birmingham known locally as ‘Teletubby Hills’ with its northern boundary marked by Hampshire Drive, its southern and south western boundary marked by Yelverton Close, and its eastern boundary marked by the adjoining properties on Niall Close, Chancellor’s Close and Oak Hill Drive.
